John S. Clark Company, LLC is pleased to announce that Greg Savage, LEED AP and Senior Project Manger has assumed the role of Director of Sustainable Construction. Mr. Savage will be the internal coordinator on LEED projects for Clark and develop training for Project Managers and Superintendents for green, sustainable and high performance buildings. He will also assure that the company is up to date on environmental technologies, issues and news.
John S. Clark Company is a member company of the US Green Building Council and has three LEED Accredited Professionals on staff with several others preparing to take the exam. In 2006 the company built CK Technologies in Mount Airy, NC, a $6 million project that is awaiting final US Green Building Council certification. Currently, the company is constructing a $30 million project to be completed in the Summer of 2009 that will be certified LEED-New Construction.
Greg Savage has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and over 10 years of experience with green, sustainable and high performance buildings. For the past 3 years, he has been part of the team working to form the Piedmont Triad Chapter of the US Green Building Council. He is the Co-Chair of the Steering Committee as well as the Education Committee which includes working with local colleges and universities. Mr. Savage is the instructor for the Triad Chapter’s LEED AP exam study group and has formed an internal exam study group at John S. Clark that begins in March.
In addition, Mr. Savage is a member of the Piedmont Environmental Alliance and serves on the Environmental Exchange panel for the Triad area on “Moving Towards Sustainable Communities.” This panel is working to increase awareness of the need for sustainable communities in the local Triad area, including Guilford, Forsyth and Surry counties.
